Welcome to the Ceres Community Action Network

Walmart has been a proud member of the Ceres community for more than 15 years. To better serve the Ceres community, Walmart plans to relocate your Ceres store to the proposed shopping center at the Northwest corner of Mitchell Road & Service Road.

The new store will include the same everyday household items and great savings you have come to expect with the added convenience of new products such as a full-service grocery department that includes fresh and locally-grown fruits and vegetables, a bakery, deli and more. Together, we can create 85 new Walmart jobs, new sales tax revenue for public services and financial support for local charities.

December 17, 2010 - The Chico Enterprise Record writes in an editorial, “When it comes to Walmart expansions, the process and paperwork usually drowns out the citizenry. The comparison between what happened when Walmart expansions were proposed in Chico and Oroville is most telling. In both cases the process followed a pattern repeated over and over up and down the state: Walmart proposes a supercenter. An out-of-town lawyer starts sniffing around, paid by an undisclosed source. A citizens group springs up in opposition to the expansion. The aforementioned lawyer takes the role as the group's mouthpiece, and generates mountains of legal paper for the city's planning staff and its consultants to grind through."
